I have a non-OEM batteries in my Canon charger with no problems for 3 years. That should go.
But beware buyers! Non OEM Batteries can be prone to fires, leaks and other issues. My Rebel XT, not necessarily as a non-original batteries, and after 50 photos the battery is almost dead on the side of the battery meter. I've learned, I have received, and the battery is still much life in it and can easily take another 400 photos, but the OEM batteries from Canon, I do not have the aggravating character.
IMO, it is worth the money to buy an OEM battery. If places like Best Buy and Circuit City is too expensive, then go to Amazon.com and check their prices. Normally, I pay a little more at Amazon Canon battery batteries, the generic in the business of the big box.
Good luck in your photos!
